3D seismic geometry evaluation based on the correlation coefficient of bin offset distribution uniformity

Abstract:The uniformity of bin offset distribution is an essential bin property of 3D seismic geometry.In this paper, we use the correlation coefficient of bin offset distribution to evaluate the uniformity of bin offset distribution and analyze acquisition footprints.The correlation coefiicient of bin offset distribution with different acquisition parameters is calculated.The results suggest that the source line spacing (inline rolling) and the receive line spacing (crossline rolling) affect more on the acquisition footprint periodicity than the receiver interval and the source interval.
