Abstract:Hailar Basin is a Late Mesozoic-Cenozoic continental rift basin, which is superimposed on the late Paleozoic collision orogenic belt that lied between the North China Plate and Siberia Plate. The basin underwent three episodes. From bottom to top,it was characterized by the expanding and rifting function, the detachment and strike-slip function, and the depression function. In the process of tectonic evolution,it was also affected by the uplifting that was caused by the middle-lower crustal materials flowing and strong tectonic compression latterly, which made it one of the most complex rift basins that has many kinds of structural style, such as extensional structure,strike-slip structure, compression structure and so on.Multi-stage of tectonic movement and multi-type tectonic style controlled the space-time configuration of basin sedimentary system.
