Abstract:As acoustic waveguides in certain deep waters, deep sea channels often cause seawater velocity in a layered structure distribution, and cause changes of ray path, travel time and amplitude in the wave field propagation, and these influences are varying with wave propagation distance. All these affect migration imaging in the data processing stage. In order to study the influence of water velocity on the seismic migration, we establish a velocity model of deep channel and a velocity model of sea water. Using wavefront construction method we calculate wave travel time, ray path and amplitude on both of the models. We compare the calculation results and migration imaging results of two models, and find out the influence of deep sea channel on wave field propagation. The following understandings are obtained: ①the influence of the deep channel on ray path in seismic data processing is not negligible; ②its influence on travel time can be ignored; and ③its influence on amplitude is very strong.
