Abstract:Complex structure targets oriented seismic illumination has an instructive significance for acquisition geometry optimized design. However finite difference methods are often limited by accuracy and efficiency although two-way equation methods have obvious advantages over other methods in theory. In this paper,pseudo-spectral method based wave field extrapolation operator is used to calculate two-way seismic illumination. Test results on simple lens model indicate that two-way seismic illumination calculated by pseudo-spectral method can effectively overcome numerical dispersion without propagation angle constraints. Calculated seismic illumination energy has more accuracy and richer wavefield information than that obtained by one-way methods. The proposed method is also applied to illumination modeling on Marmousi model. The results show that the method can deal with violent variation of lateral velocity, and optimize acquisition geometry for complex structure targets.
