Abstract:Retrogradation reflection is a reflected phenomenon that reflects the thinning strata and trun-Gated its top in toward basin center, which is different from that takes place generally in basin margin. The retrogradation reflection is rarely seen incontinental basin and usually takes place in lacustrine deposition only when accomodation spacegreatly increases due to quick rise of lake level fora long period or gradual reducing and retreat ofmain solitary source supply from depression center. The retrogradation direction usually points tothe main source supply direction. In lecustrine sequence stratigraphy, the retrogradation reflectionrepresents transgrassive syaem tract with con-densed section as its cap, which is overlaid by highstand system tract with progradation reflection orparallel reflection. The transgrassive system tractwith retrogradation reflection often happens in afair large order cycle(4-10Ma) of lake level rise-and-fall.
