Measurement and rule of velocity and attenuation for P-wave in core sampleof water-saturated sand in a condition of room temperature and confined pressure

Abstract:Under the condition of 28~80℃ room temperature and 3.33~60.0 MPa confining pressure,and through measuring 19 core samples of water-saturated sand in Daqing Oilfield,a set of complete and reliable data,such as P-wave velocity(v0),pressure coefficient of wave velocity(av),temperature confficient(bv),and quality factor(Q,including P-wave quality factorQ0),pressure coefficient(bq)and temperature coefficient for pressure coefficient(cq))has been got.The regression formula for P-wave velocity as well as quality factor Q as a function of temperature and confining pressure has been got for core samples of Daqing well No.1 and No.2.The measurement results show that the relation between P-wave velocity and quality factor Q vs pressure and temperature is linear and relation of pressure coefficient of the Q and temperature is also linear for core samples of water-saturated sand.
