Abstract:Compared with surface seismic data,VSP data has higher resolution and signal-to-noise ratio(S/N ratio). If deconvolution operator extracted from VSP data is used in post-stack seismic data processing, then the resolution of surface seismic data can be raised. In this paper two methods to improve the surface seismic data resolution are introduced. The first one is based on the regular predictive deconvolution principle by designing an ideal predictive window to make the post-stack seismic section's S/N ratio not decreased, and then trying to reach the resolution as high as possible. The second one is to use high resolution VSP wavelet to replace surface seismic wavelet used in the surface seismic data processing. The real seismic data processing results show that the two methods work well and the surface seismic resolution can be seen obviously raised.
