Abstract:The seismic data can be converted to inverse data domain in which primary energy and signals from near surface can be successfully separated,by muting the focus of the signals from near surface in the inverse data domain, the multiples from near surface can be eliminated. The new approach did not cause the damaged effect on primary energy, which was side effect in the wave equation prediction subtraction approach.Compared with the Surface-Related Multiple Elimination approach(SRME),the approach is simpler, and the subtraction is not necessary. In this paper a method converting seismic data to inverse data domain is illuminated in 1-d media and 2-d media, and a finite difference algorithm is developed. The real data test shows that the approach can effectively eliminate the multiples while preserving the primary energy.
