Abstract:Comprehensive seismic inversion technique restricted with geologic and logging data has been used to achieve the lateral prediction of shape, continuity and petrophysical parameters of Paleogene inland river-lake fades thin sand reservoir series. The comprehensive inversion technique has some key characteristics:.Combining high lateral resolution of seismic data with good vertical resolution of both core drilling and logging data.Making full use of the low and high frequency contents in log data, and rich mid-frequency seismic informations.Taking restraints, namely, log data being calibrated by core, and seismic data being calibrated by log data. The model is modified repeatedly,by iterative inversion, to produce the optimized wide-band wave impedance model that is suitable to lateral reservoir prediction. The technique improves both the resolution of wave impedance section and the prediction accuracy of petrophysical parameters of sand reservoir.
