Abstract:In this paper the application of stratal slicing technique in complex faulted basin was discussed. It is indicated that the stratal slicing technique has its limitation, that is, the isochronal slices are not necessarily on the geological deposition interface, and attribute slices are related to sensitivity and stability of the seismic attributes. In this paper based on carefully studying depositional system in the exploration area, amplitude depositional system and structure anomaly depositional system were delineated in detail. By integrating 3D fine seismic interpretation with 3D visualization technology and correctly using stratal slicing technique for identifying channel sand bodies in Damoguaihe Formation and fans in Nantun Formation in Dell Depression, it is found out that the traps in this area are mainly structure - lithology reservoirs or lithology reservoirs, H12 well was drilled in this area and commercial oil was obtained from the well.
