Abstract:How to obtain the correct derivatives of both the potential field anomaly and the vertical gradient with respect to the tangent line directions is a key to the conversion of curved-surface potential field and vertical gradient data into horizontal plane data.We use cubic spline function for derivation to achieve the conversion of curved-surface potential field and vertical gradient data into horizontal一plane data.This method involves the following points: •Bicubic spline curve functions instead of spline curved-surface function are used to make fitting respectively in survey line and base line with the use of cubic spline function. •Spline functions are taken to obtain the second-order and third-order vertical derivatives of the observed potential field. •Taylor's series approximation is done to estimate approximate potential-field values in a plane,thus finishing the conversion of curved-surface potential field and vertical data into horizontal-plane data.Model result shows that the method is based on right theory,and brings accurate fast operation and effective gradient survey.
