Abstract:The spectrum whitening based on Fourier transform and the frequency increase of orthogonal wavelets can be used to raise the resolution of seismic data;however, they divide frequency roughly,so that signal energy varies greatly in different frequency bands, often causing the"noodles phenomenon"of signals in time domain. Frequency-increase processing with the use of wavelet package algorithm leads to fine division of seismic signals, which makes the divided signals cover smaller frequency bands respectively, thus overcoming the above defect and improving greatly the seismic resolution. The new method raises frequency but fails to widen frequency extent;therefore,it can not improve the resolution of raw seismic data which have low or less rich frequency contents.
