Abstract:2-D prestack migration using double τ-p transform is achieved in the following steps: ·τ-p forward transform of different CMP trace gathers are made respectively to get CMP τ-p data volume. ·Common-p section is produced, from which final migrated seismic section can be derived by doing τ-p migration and late stack. The method is not limited in azimuthal velocity variation. The results of modeling and real data show that the method can enhance both strong and weak reflection legs, raise the signalJnoise ratio and resolution of seismic section, offer clear images of syncline and fault in section, without interference due to boundary reflecdons. Hyperbolic velocity filtering and similar coefficient method are introduced to remove the influences resulting from end-point effect and alias.
