Abstract:The industrial thickness of single coal seam is 1.5m at least. The coal mining techniques can't work desirably when fault throw is over half of the seam thickness. It is necessary, therefore, for us to improve. the resolution of seismic section. The steady iterative inversion in time domain raises the apparent dominant frequency of seismic time section from 50 Hz to 460Hz, so that the reflections from the top and bottom of 4m-thick coal seam are clearly parted from each other. The principle of the method is sketched here. Its requirement is that the signal/noise ratio of seismic data is above, the higher signal/noise ratio bringing more reliable inversion result. The method can cause fast convergence in iteration and conserve original wide-band high frequency of seismic data.
