Abstract:In a stacked seismic seetion, refleetion events from underlying interfaces appesr as a continuous layered image, or a pseudo-eontinuous layered image with finite breaks, noises being irregular. If Radon transform is applied to wave amplitudes in the seismic section, that is to say, projecting is respectively made at each direction, the layered. image shows smooth curves in definjte forms while noise data are canceled out each other, the remains being in Gauss distribution. Smoothing and othermeans in Radon domain can remove the noises in Gauss distribution. Thus a high S/N ratio stacked section can be obtained after inverse Radon transform, without its original resolution and signal waveforms changed. Theoretical and practical results show that this method is good for suppressing noises.
