Abstract:Signal fidelity is considered as estimation problem, Seismic reflection amplitudes of different-offset traces can be effectively estimated by using Kalman filtering. After this estimation processing, we can obtain zero-offset section and the estimated amplitudes of other nonzero-offset traces, which can be used in wave impedance recovery, velocity inversion, migration and AVO analysis. The examples of synthetic and real seismic records show that with the use of this method, both the seismic data whose reflection amplitude varies with offset and the seismic data whose reflection amplitude remains unchanged can be processed to have nearly the same fidelity effect.
