Abstract:The colour seismic section displayed by GS一6410computer is formed by a lot of small colour rectangles。These rectangles are produced by the variable area function of black一and-white display system.The horizontal side length of a rectangle is defined as trace spacing,stored in the first 8 bits of a 16 bit word; while the vertical side length is defined as time sampling interval.Colour codes are stored in the next 8 bits,where the 8th and 9th bits are used for storing red code 10th and 11th bits for blue code,12th and 13th bits for the green,There are four steps of brightness for each colour。Three different colours in combination With four different brightness produce 64 kinds of colour shade.A colour seismic section is produced in the following procedue. First,after the colour codes of a certain sc;ismic information on whole section are determined,three negatives (red,blue and green) are taken in black-and一white display way, Then,he three negatives combined with their corresponding colour filtexs are exposed on a one colour photographic printing paper,which is then developed into a colour section.
