Abstract:In laboratory,water and gas contents in sandstone are determined using transmitted wave,Ultrasonic wave transducer is used as source,and transient waveform recorder as receiving device.Data are processed minicomputer, Some discoveries are obtainedo(1)Generally speaking,HCI result obtained in laboratory coincides with the common conclusion drawn from computers,that is to say,the decreases of dominant frequency mean and bandwidth (BW),as well as the increases of low band area(A,)and A,/AS ratio(As: band area in sum) are helpful to indication of hydrocarbon,(2)A, jAs ratio is quite stable and sensitive, A, is less so,and the least are the B.F,and Fm.(3)Low center frequency and its bandwidth cause different effects on A,and A,JA$, When band is constantand center frequency is 468 kc,A,and A1JA5 get maximum relative variaiion;when the center frequnecy is constant,then the smaller the low bandwidth,the more sensitive are Az and AiiAs variations.(4)HCI indexes are related to the percent content of gas in sandstone,When gas content increases from 0一50,60%,Fmz, Fm}, BW decrease,and Al,AliAs increase,If gas content increase goes on,HCI indexes vary inversely,(5) It is possible to find new HCI parameters from filtering character and elastic coefficient of rocks.
