Abstract:On the basis of a discussion on the physical definition of the Huygens' Principle, it is pointed out that the Huygens' Principle is a physically equivalent principle based on secondary point source concept. On the basis of volume variation ratio and stress physical character, the Kirchhoff integral which is the sole mathematic expression of the Huygens Principle is derived under a given condition of point source, and the physically equivalent composite result of single pole and dual pole secondary spherical waves is demonstrated. Proceeding from this, the paper shows that the negation of the physical meaning of secondary point source is contradictory to the affirmation of Kirchhoff integral expression.
