Abstract:As the most effective processing technique in improving consistence of time-lapse seismic data, the cross-equalization processing technique has been broadly applied in time-lapse seismic data processing and achieved distinctive effects. The paper showed by model analysis and application to real seismic data that the good or bad application effects of cross-equalization processing technique depend on not only the consistent level of data acquired in the field, but also the position and size of time windows the cross-equalization filter designed as well as the length of filter; correctly selecting the cross-equalization processing flow can effectively eliminate or overcome the non-repeatable noises from field acquisition, control and reduce the distortion of interesting time-lapse seismic anomaly to the method itself. It is important for time-lapse seismic monitoring with weak anomaly to carefully analyse the trusty and reliability of residual energy in cross-equalization-processed seismic difference profile.
