Abstract:Using structural feature of seismic data volume to predict hydrocarbon is a new hydrocarbon prediction technique, which takes relationship between seismic data components on each seismic trace as a studied object (that is structural feature of data volume) to study the feature of composition and range of various parameters and their relationship with hydrocarbon-bearing ability by detecting the amplitude value of each seismic trace, achieving the goal predicting the hydrocarbon reservoir. The method overcame the influence of complexity of different reserving spaces in some traditional hydrocarbon prediction methods and can get better results in the prediction of strongly non-homogeneous complex reservoir. The cases of carbonate reservoir with strong non-homogeneity the paper selected are three kinds of different reserve space types: porous, fractural and cavernous type, for which we used structural feature of seismic data volume to predict hydrocarbon-bearing ability. The applied results showed that the structural feature of seismic data volume will appear clearly anomalous feature when the stratum is hydrocarbon-bearing stratum, the reservoir boundary can be further defined. In those cases, the results predicted by the method are better coincident to latter drilled results.
