Abstract:3-D seismic exploration has been basically finished in oil/gas-bearing structural belts of China eastern continental fault basins. In order to renew knowledge and appreciation of these fault basins according to current sequence-stratigraphic theory, the 3-D large-area prestack time migration processing in fault basin is a necessary choice.Taking the Nanpu sag as an example, the paper highlights the analysis of the feasibility of multiple-block-jointed prestack time migration processing and its key techniques. It is shown by achieved processing results in Nanpu sag that carrying out the 3-D large-area multiple-block-jointed prestack time migration processing in continental fault basin has important meaning for deepening geologic knowledge, digging the potential in depleted fields, achieving new breakthrough in new exploration areas and fulfillment of sustainable development of oilfield.
