Abstract:Aeromagnetic anomalous feature of Xujiaweizi fault depression in the north part of Songliao basin appears two distinctive strips,the one is in NNW direction and the other is in NE direction.It is considered by integrative analyses of magnetic susceptibility of rock and drilling cores and geologic and drilling data in that area that the major factor resulted in magnetic anomaly in the area is volcanic rock in faulted period.The stripped magnetic anomaly is reflection distributing feature of volcanic rock in faulted period, meanwhile, the stripped aeromagnetic anomaly has good coincident relationship with the formation of fault depression, showing an important geophysical feature of exten-sional fault depression.Currently, several exploration wells have been drilled on both wings of stripped magnetic anomaly reflecting volcanic rock in Xujiaweizi fault depression, which obtained high-production gas stream,showing a good exploration prospect for deep natural gas in that area.The paper suggested that the drilling targets ahead should be arranged along the both wings of stripped aeromagnetic anomaly, which is hope of gaining more distinguished effects
