Abstract:Prestack elastic wave impedance inversion technique is a new developed technique in the realm of oil/gas exploration. The prestack elastic wave impedance inversion technique is to use data of different offsets gathers and S-wave, P-wave and density logging data for joint inversion of lithologic and oil/gas-bearing-related multi-elastic parameters for integrative recognition of reservoir nature and oil/gas-bearing ability. The method is also called as elastic parameter inversion. In comparison with poststack acoustic impedance inversion, the prestack elastic wave impedance inversion greatly improved the credibility and can conduct half-quantitative to quantitative description of oil/gas-bearing ability because of using a great deal of seismic and logging data. On the basis of briefly describing basic principle and method of he prestack elastic wave impedance inversion, the paper gave the successful application cases of the method.
