Abstract：2005 is 40 anniversary of OIL GEOPHYSICAL PROSPECTING,in which many famous specialists and experts wrote articles for commemoration,reflecting the journal leading the progress of technology in oil geophysical exploration in China and reviewing the important contribution of techniques of geophysical prospecting to oil/gas exploration and development in our country. In 2005,the journal carried out and developed these good traditions and was again given the Third National Journal Award. Totally 128 pieces of articles were published in last year’s journal,in which 7 aspects were concerned:①field seismic acquisition;②seismic data processing;③seismic comprehensive interpretation and oil/gas prediction;④new seismic approaches and techniques;⑤lithologic oil/gas reservoir exploration and development seismic exploration;⑥gravity,magnetic and electric integrative geophysical exploration;and ⑦summary. The quality of articles published in the journal continued to keep a higher level,which reflected not only the studied depth and applied effects of oil geophysical exploration techniques,but also demands on geophysical exploration presented by current oil/gas exploration and development engineering in our country,which pointed out direction for the technical development ahead. The journal has become one of most authoritative journal of geophysical exploration in our country.
