Abstract:In order to improve the solution of potential field inversion, two-stepped filter- ing technique is put forward on the basis of Parker's potential field inversion (1973).The first step filtering is performed to choose regularizing filter and an op- timum cutoff frequency so that high-frequency noises can be suppressed while high- frequency informations will be retained as much as possible,with the inversion con- verged. The second step filtering is used to improve the inversion solution. This technique was applied to一both the interface inversion for a gravimetric section and the magnetisability inversion for a magnetic profile in the Minhe Basin. The inver- sion results are appraised as fine ones.
