Abstract:The maximum thickness of Quaternary shallow lake fades sedimentsin the East Chaidamu basin is 3200m.Gas sourceof 15000km2,which is the most favourable arearock covers an areawhere wecover gas resources.Seismic velocity in theis quite low,generally ranging from 1700m/s to 2500m/s.with such low velocity,gas-bearing horizons in seismic time section show thefeatures:obvious low velocity anomaly-depression that occurs in adome,weak energy and low frequencyo In the light of these features,gas resources in this area were predicted using seismic methods,suchas forward seismic modeling,synthetic sonic logging,AVO,lithologymodeling,seismicpressure prediction and so on.Drilung proved suc-cessful thetechnique by whichwe search for gas resources.
