Abstract:Accurately mapping a surface must be done through local data control points,each control point plays its role in its vicinity and makes the weighted value changes smoothly in the vicinity,all the control points work in this way in their vicinities over the whole area of the surface and at last a smooth surface can be generated.In this paper a new surface interpolation technique which is based on local surface weighted method is introduced.By using local data points Triangulated Irregular Network(TIN) was generated,the skeleton method was used to remove triangle points with same elevation,then the multi local quadrics were generated,al last the quadrics were used to conduct weighted interpolation in their vicinities so that the quadrics can be smoothed and an accurate and smooth surface was obtained.The application of the technique shows that the technique works faster and more accurately than traditional surface interpolation techniques,and it is believed that the technique could meet the need of interpolating the accurate 3-d visualization surface for oil exploration software.
