Partial-stack dataset optimization in prestack seismic inversion

Abstract:In prestack seismic inversion, mis-ties of different partial-stack seismic datasets could decrease the quality and reliability of elastic parameters inversion. We use in this paper horizontal control, residual data cross-correlation, and consistent quality control factors to correct the partial-stack datasets. After determining corresponding target horizons with proper time windows, we calculate residual cross-correlation between the standard datasets and uncorrected datasets. When the data could not meet the requirement of inversion, a repeatability analysis method of four-dimensional seismic would be introduced into data correlation. In this method, normalized root mean square and prediction-index factor could optimize the time offset and amplitude scaling factor. In the process, a relatively reliable procedure of partial-stack dataset correction was established. Real data inversion shows that partial-stack dataset correction could obviously improve inversion quality.
