Abstract:According to the subsurface geologic charac- ters of 3-D block in southeastern part of Zanano'er Oilfield, eastern margin of Precaspian Sea, we a-dopted processed stack velocity spectrum-basedray-tracing approach to carry out the buildup of ve-locity field and velocity-variable mapping in the re-gion. The method uses computer to simulate thefield geometry, taking underground medium as diplayered uniform medium synthetically,according topractical folds and offsets and based on minimumtravel-time principle(Fermat's principle), and u-sing ray-tracing approach with offsets to computeinitial interval velocity model;then, based on mini-mum square principle, comparison of computedstack velocity with practical stack velocity at corre-sponding spectrum points yielded the interval ve-locity best matching with stack velocity;the com-putation is carried out point by point and line byline in abovementioned order, and finally we gotthe interval velocity model in whole work area.Through practical application in 2006, No. 2 struc-ture was redetermined in the block, well A-3 andwell A-4 were designed at height of the structure, and well A-3 was drilled well, the layering errorsbetween the practical drilled and the designed topinterfaces of targets KT- Z and KT- 11 are 6m and7m respectively, and hydrocarbon show were seenin these two layers.
