Studying and designing of general seismic data model based on relational database

Abstract:Seismic data are the important data resource for oilgas exploration and production,and how to organize and access the data become the key point for seismic software research.By analyzing seismic data structure and current mode of seismic data organization and access,and by integrating with relational database theory and object relational mapping theory,the authors developed a general seismic data model which is based on relational database.With this model the following 3 questions got answered,At first,the right mode by which to store seismic data is found out so that the data can be shared;secondly the way for how to develop in the future becomes clear;and thirdly how to fast access the seismic slice data is solved.The real data test shows that the speed of access to seismic slice data is 1000 times than directly retrieving the data from seismic gather data volume,therefore to a certain extent the development of relational seismic database model raises the seismic data-utilizing efficiency and enhances data-sharing.
