Abstract:In order to improve computational efficiency and reduce computer storage of 3D surface related multiple elimination (SRME), this paper proposes a new approach for 3D surface related multiple elimination. We optimize the aperture of multiple contribution gather based on the aperture of 3D multiple contribution gather (MCG), and replace exact solution by approximate solution and tolerance. Tests on 3D field data prove that the proposed approach achieves similar multiple elimination as other 3D SRME approaches do, but greatly reduces computer storage and computing cost.
