Abstract:Research on wavelets is based on equivalent cavity model. The cavity theory guides the selection of source parameters in seismic exploration. But it has following problems:A. Pressure of the power-law decay form is applied to interior surface of a spherical cavity, but its physical meaning is not clear; B. Impact of the detonation gas is ignored; C. Explosive impact on wavelets is not involved. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to establish a correspondence between the explosion mechanism and the wavelets, obtain the quantitative relations of wavelets, and analyze factors affecting seismic wavelets. Our research shows that high-density and high-detonation velocity explosive may not always be the best activation, and isentropic expansion exponent should be considered. These achievements provide a theoretical foundation for source parameter design in seismic exploration.
