Abstract:Since electrical field horizontal component in long offset & window transient electromagnetic (LOWTEM) data is sensitive to change of high resistivity of thin beds, we use time lapse LOWTEM to monitor remaining oil. In order to highlight high resistivity change of thin beds, the data of time-lapse LOWTEM data is processed with normalized residual. According to our experiment results, resistivity normalized residual maps and remaining oil predicted distribution maps obtained from time-lapse LOWTEM are well matched with exploration and development information of the oilfield, which indicates that time-lapse LOWTEM will have bright prospects in remaining oil monitoring.
