Abstract:Tectonics and sediment are the two factors for the formation of the low amplitude structure in foreland basin in A Block of South America.Due to its small scale, small trap area and difficulty to identify, the low amplitude structure can not be accurately delineated by routine structure interpretation and mapping techniques.Based on the characteristics of the low amplitude structure in the basin and the studies by other researchers, several identification methods for the structure were proposed in this paper, such as coherent volume technique and slicing technique, which fit the low amplitude structures formed by tectonic movement, and the structure residual method and the integration seismic trace method which fit the low amplitude structures formed by sediment factor.By integratedly applying the identification methods, the accuracy ratio of the identification of the low amplitude structure was raised in the area.
