Analysis of major control factors of Yingcheng Formation Volcanic reservoir formation

Abstract:The volcanic reservoir in Chaganhua area has some excellent characteristics,such as large reserve,rich and thick gas layer,excellent reservoir physical property and high single well production rate and so on.It is the main area for deep gas exploration.Based on the studies on the gas accumulation conditions and the distribution characteristic,it can be seen that the distribution of the gas reservoirs in this area show certain regularity.The gas reservoirs are mainly located around the hydrocarbon-generating centres in which the Shahezi dark shale rocks were distributed,the location of the centres were controlled by palo-uplift and the volcanic reservoirs.The major control factors for the formation of the volcanic reservoir include the source rock,the reservoir and the migration,the source rocks control the accumulation and distribution of the gas reservoirs,as a migration channel,the extension of the fracture in the space controls the vertical migration layers and locations of the gas,its active period controls the migration and accumulation period of the gas,the volcanic lithology facies and the reservoir physical properties which were modified by tectonics function control the richness of the gas reservoirs,it is predicted in this paper that the Yingcheng Formation thick layer and the bulk volcanic rocks are the favourite targets for the gas reservoir exploration in the near future.
