Establishment of water saturation model for low porosity and low permeability reservoir and its application in Songnan Area

Abstract:By studying the characteristics of rock physics analysis data from 81 rock samples of low porosity and low permeability reservoir in Songnan Area,two major factors which affect the resistivity of rocks with low porosity and low permeability in this area were summarized,the first factor is shale's additional conductivity,and the other factor is that the increase of the shale content makes pore structure become complicated so that the rock's resistivity increases.Based on the studies the model that is used to evaluate the water saturation of the low porosity and low permeability layer was established in this paper,excellent results were achieved by applying the model in Songnan Area.
