Abstract:Seismic section quality analysis is a fundamental and challenging work in the hydrocarbon exploration. Reliable quality evaluation standards should be needed in seismic interpretation,and used for the guidance of future seismic acquisition and processing. The most accurate way for seismic section quality evaluation is by human eyes. However this subjective evaluation method cannot be widely used in practice due its high cost. At the same time,objective evaluation methods based on amplitude,frequency,and signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) are not good in accordance with human subjective feeling. Based on visual features, direction features,and spatial frequency characteristics of the multi-channel structure theory,we propose a new approach to seismic section quality evaluation. Our proposed approach achieves good results as the subjective evaluation method,which may be an appropriate one in practice.
