Abstract:Longmen Mountain thrust belt located in western Sichuan Basin is an important exploration field. Active hydrocarbon shows often appear in marine carbonates of Lower Permian. Before 2000,many gas bearing structures were found in the area,but since then there is no big discovery. Based on poor quality seismic data and complex tectonic styles,we apply some interpretation-oriented processing methods. These geological-target driven methods improve a lot seismic data quality. So we specify structural characteristics in Area SYS,front of Longmen Mountain thrust belt with structural interpretation. We have proposed an exploration well on the basis of structural interpretation and favorable sedimentary facies of Lower Permian analysis,and this well is drilled and has daily gas production more than one million square meters,which reveals great exploration potential of Lower Permian marine carbonates in Longmen Mountain thrust belt.
