Abstract:Surface wave suppression techniques based on the geometric feature difference between reflected wave and surface wave usually do not work under the condition of space sampling interval in present 3D surveys.Therefore,we propose a novel method.First strong energy of surface wave is suppressed based on statistics of reflection amplitude spectrum in shot gathers,and then residual energy statistics of surface wave is separated based on phase spectrum differences between surface wave and reflected wave.Compared with conventional methods,this method is not influenced by SNR,and has adaptive capacity of spatial variation,and can also obtain good suppression result even for surface wave with spatial aliasing.We apply the proposed method to synthetic and real field data sets and compare it with FK filtering.The result shows that the proposed method can effectively suppress surface wave and maintain low frequency information.
