Abstract:Due to the limitation of geological and seismic data,it is very difficult to accurately identify the reflection position of the subsalt structure T8,Kelasu on seismic sections in Kuche Depression,Tarim Basin,and it is also very difficult to accurately predict the target depth with the conventional VSP pre-drilling depth prediction method.These factors affect seriously drilling progress.Therefore,we propose in this paper a new drilling depth prediction approach based on VSP amplitude attributes.We use the wave impedance inversion to predict subsalt structure velocity,and then we predict accurately the depth of the target T8.The drilled Well KS102 in Kuche Depression proves the effectiveness of the proposed approach as the prediction error is only 1m.
