Abstract:The exploration in the SZ Area, Songliao Basin reveals a great potential of tight gas reservoir. However, reservoir prediction is difficult due to thin beds and poor physical properties, which restricts seriously the horizontal well drilling. In order to improve tight sandstone reservoir prediction, we conduct a series of geological research in the SZ Area, Songliao Basin with the interpretation tools provided by GeoEast such as structural interpretation, petro-physics analysis, reservoir prediction, and hydrocarbon detection. Research results show that thin tight sand reservoirs with the thickness of 15 meters are effectively predicted, and the coincidence rate with drilling information is up to 80%. A 500km2 favorable area is delineated. This may be of great helps for the future horizontal well drilling.
