Abstract:Mesozoic strata of Chao-shan depression in northern South China Sea is mainly of continental lake sedimentary basin.However magma activities widely developed in the depression.The water depth in the area changes dramatically,from 50 meters to more than 3000 meters.Subsurface is very complicated with many fractures and steep dips.Due to limits of the technology,seismic data acquired in the past have many problems such as weak reflectivity in deep layers,discontinuous events,low signal to noise ratio,and poor imaging.Focusing on targets in Mesozoic strata,we have carried out an over/under streamer and over/under source seismic acquisition test.And this test obtains valuable experience in seismic data acquisition in Mesozoic of Chao-shan region.The acquired seismic data have satisfactory quality for further study.
