Abstract:In a PetroChina bock of Amu-Darya Basin, lots of reef and extremely thick salt-gypsum sediments were developed in platform-edge slope during the depositional period of Middle Jurassic and Late Jurassic, which forms import types of reservoir-seal assemblages in this area.Affected by the thrusting of southwestern Gissar Mountain, deformation and plastic flow happened to the salt-gypsum sediments, which make the identification of subsalt reef more difficult. To study on the relationship between patch reefs, which massively distribute in the in platform-edge slope, and the overlying deformed salt-gypsum sediments, this paper analyzes their seismic response characteristics starting with seismic forward model, identifies reefs by isochrone method, explores a way to predict the distribution of reef reservoir through the combination of palaeogeomorphology and coherent amplitude attribute, and optimizes sparse inversion with constrains of sequence stratigraphy framework, which effectively eliminates the affection of salt-gypsum formation on reef reservoir. Finally we develop a set of suitable methods for subsalt reef identification, and discover a few reefs as prospects favorable for drilling.
