Abstract The reference signal delay on the auxiliarychannels often occurs during vibroseis acquisition. We review in this paper the synchronization con-cept between the seismic recording system and thevibrator, and find out that this delay actually iscaused by seismic data recorded earlier than theauxiliary channel data during the acquisition. Weanalyze the delay affects on first arrivals, energyand frequency of a correlated single shot record, and propose some approaches for asynchronousproblem identification and some solutions to them, which may be helpful for field seismologists.
