Abstract:Carbonate rocks in the Tabei Area is the main oil and gas exploration target in Tarim Basin.Various irregular fault-karst reservoirs were formed along large fault-karst belts in the area covered by the Upper Ordovician due to multi-phase tectonic deformations and karstifications of the carbonates.Based on the carbonate distribution law and reservoirs controlled by faults in Tarim Basin,we develop new methods for carbonate reservoir characterization and well proposal based on the fault-karst theory.According to small slips,unclear plane combinations and fault-karst boundaries,we descript fault-karst carbonate reservoirs with a few tools provided by GeoeEst such as structure interpretation,reservoir prediction,and multi-attribute fusion.Good results achieved by our description are used as a guide for the future exploration deploiment.
