Analysis of the amplitude preservation of deconvolu-tion methods based on physical model data

Abstract:The amplitude-preserved data determines theaccuracy of AVO inversion, and it is greatly influ-enced by many factors,such as data acquisitionand processing.Deconvolution is one of these fac-torn that are usually ignored.And by now veryfew conclusions have been drawn about the ampli-tude preservation of deconvolution. In this paper,the influence of substituting propagation theory ofseismic waves with convolution model on the am-plitude preservation quality is theoretically stud-ied,and then the amplitude preservation of severalimportant deconvolution methods is analyzed,in-chiding surface-consistent deconvolution,predic-tive deconvolution,impulse deconvolution, andspectrum whiten.Taking 3D physical model datafor example,AVO attributes(P and G) by Shueyslinear fitting with the deconvolution methods areobtained,and then they are compared with the the-oretical AVO attribute.Therefore,we can make aquantitative investigation of the influence of decon-volution methods on the amplitude preservationquality.The following observation are obtainedfrom the results:①The surface-consistent decon-volution belongs to amplitude-preserved process-ing,because it improves the gradient of AVO at-tribute by 3 .8%in this example;②After the sur-face-consistent deconvolution processing,the am-plitude preservation of predictive deconvolution canbe improved a lot,and multi-channel predictive de-convolution is obviously better than single channeldeconvolution;③When the expected output isd(t)=[1,0,…,0],the impulse deconvolution isno longer amplitude-preserved,because it causesthe error of the gradient more than 90%;④Spec-trum whiten is also not amplitude-preserved, and itbrings the error of the gradient about 15%-2000.
