The status and development direction of reservoir geophysics in CNPC

Abstract:By reviewing the reservoir geophysics development history and its evolution, reservoir geophysics tasks and its future needs are discussed from reservoir types and production modes. Comparing with international new progress in reservoir geophysics and combining with reservoir geophysics development history in China, the status and challenges are analyzed in 9 aspects, i.e. rock physics analysis, high guality seismic data processing, quantitive seismic data interpretation, borehole seismic, multicomponent seismic, timelapse seismic, joint dynamic analysis with seismic, logging, and reservoir data, microseismic monitoring, and stress field simulation. The future development direction is predicted.
