Abstract:During seismic OBC prospecting, tide correction is always a complex problem since tide differences cause elevation changes of receiver & source points. For the conventional OBC, tide corrections are based on tide table data or tide gauge data. However, this approach cannot meet fidelity requirements of high precision seismic prospecting. We present in this paper a method for tide correction based on real time elevations recorded by DGPS system. Pilot applications have proved that the proposed approach is effective and reliable.
