Abstract:Independent simultaneous sweep(ISS) is one of high productivity acquisition techniques. As vibrators in different positions sweep independently without any waiting for their activities or synchronizing to recording system, the acquisition method is of high efficient and acquired data amount is large. To handle the the large seismic data, high performance hardware is required. A shot record can be formed and correlated from the continuous uncorrelated dataset at any later stage before the conventional processing. This paper proposes an efficient forming/correlation method for the ISS data with the use of multi-thread and multi-node technology to meet the requirements of efficiency of handling the large amount of seismic data. At present, the efficiency of a single node method can fulfill 8TB data daily.
